Rainbow Canada is committed to safeguarding the privacy and well-being of its users. Our platform serves as a centralized source of information on the laws and policies pertaining to the rights of 2SLGBTQI individuals in Canada, developed in collaboration with researchers from Simon Fraser University and Egale Canada.

Information Collection

We collect anonymous information through a quiz designed to foster user engagement and augment user knowledge of 2SLGBTQI rights and policies. The information collected represents users' responses to multiple-choice questions, devoid of any personal identifiers. Participation of minors is inadvertent, and any data collected is impersonal and non-identifiable.

Please note that the index is incomplete, and all data presented should be regarded as provisional. We are separately gathering feedback to identify additional domains to be added to the index in order to more accurately represent inter-provincial/territorial variations in structural stigma. We are separately offering website visitors the opportunity to provide feedback on the index itself. Please refer to the survey landing page for more information about how survey data will be used.

Use of Information

The collected data is utilized to represent an average knowledge level on the discussed topics for future users. The anonymized, aggregate data is shared publicly to benefit the broader user base and facilitate informed discussion and policymaking.
